Volunteer Program:
Are you a painter? An organizer? A computer geek? A cook? A carpenter? A people person? An audio tech? Join us! This is a volunteer run organization and we need all sorts. We endeavour to be friendly and professional with that down home hard work and genial good spirit. Humble gumption as some say. Some jobs you get free entry!

There are lots of things that we can use help with depending on your skill and availability and jobs range from light, moderate, and advanced.
Light to moderate level volunteer options:
Dance set Up/take down:
Coming early to set up (6pm – 7pm)
-setting up chairs, tables, quilts, lights, fans, opening windows, etc..
Staying late to take down (10 – 10:30pm)
-same but in reverse

Teach: are you an experienced dancer and want to help with a dance workshop? Let us know!
Door Monitor: Unfortunately as per insurance we need someone watching at the entrance to the dance. Are you tough looking and friendly? Are you diplomatic and comforting? You might be the perfect fit.
Artistic:
Bring flowers/a plant for the welcome table.
Taking pictures of the dancers and sending to social media person
Design a poster!
Beautify welcome sign white board


Communications/computer work:
Check in with sound engineer a few days before the dance to confirm timing (email)
Adding band/caller details to fall flyer (word doc)
Making flyers for workshops, dances, etc…
Publicity:
Putting up 10-20 flyers around town or at the university (we have flyers and a list of locations)
Submitting ad to local radio stations: KUGS, 98.7
Submitting calendar details to Cascadia Daily News, Herald, Hamster Wheel, etc..
Social Media:
–maintain and update facebook page
-collating videos and pics for uploading on website/facebook
Food: managing/organizing snacks. Bring snacks!
Advanced positions: (email for more info)
Board of Directors Treasurer: taxes, non-profit administration, insurance, accounting
Volunteer coordinator: organize open/close
Communications director: manage publicity, flyers, news articles, etc..
Advanced set up: Helping set up/take down sound equipment (some previous experience preferred and physical strength required)
