Potluck & Square Dance: WAM Stringband + Henson Burk-Fawcett
Join us for our March potluck and square dance! Don’t know how to do-si-do or allemande left? No problem! No experience or partner necessary. All dances will be taught by the caller.
If joining for the potluck, please bring a dish to share (if you can) and a label with ingredients for people with dietary restrictions. If you don’t have time, don’t worry! Join us for a delicious meal anyhow. This is a non-alcoholic, all ages event.
Potluck: 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Eat, chat, and make friends!
Dance: 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm. Dance, laugh, and cry tears of joy!
Location: Fairhaven Library Hall, 1117 12th St.

Entry: $12–15; $8 students (by donation)
Band: The WAM Stringband is a part of the Western Americana Music (WAM) club of Western Washington University. Since the club formed in 2024, WAM Stringband has played a variety of events, including square dances, concerts, and puppet shows. The WAM Stringband has performed at the North West Folklife Festival, the Bellingham Folk Festival, and at many venues in the Bellingham area. The WAM Stringband recently recorded an old-time music album, which will be released on Bandcamp soon. While the WAM club operates separately from the band, they both are committed to creating spaces for all people to enjoy and participate in folk music. Instagram: @wwu.wam
Caller: Henson Burk-Fawcett is a square dance caller, guitar player, and banjo player for the WAM Stringband. He also serves as the band manager for the WAM board. He is currently a senior studying ethnomusicology at Fairhaven College of WWU.
