Enjoy dancing? Come learn another integral aspect of the social dance scene: calling. Lead a hall of 60 people! Make commands from the helm! Or something like that. We would love to have more local callers. If you stick with it you’ll even get paid gig.

Ever wondered what it takes to call a dance? Come learn the basics and get started with John Hatten, a caller of many decades and one of the founders of the Bellingham country dance scene.

Learn the 8-count structure, progressions, improper vs. proper, Becket formation, bad jokes to ease the tension, what to do when you mess up,  and more! Learn to call a dance and maybe even write your own one day.
