Unless otherwise noted, dances are held upstairs in the Fairhaven Library at 1117 12th Street, Bellingham, Washington.


March 4th - Uncle Farmer is Ben Schreiber on fiddle and Michael Sokolovsky on guitar with California’s Susan Petrick calling. Don’t miss this one!

March 11th - Open Band & Caller! Come call some dances, play in the band and DANCE! Dave Andrews and Sherrie Montgomery are coordinating the band and Marlin Prowell will organize the calling.

March 25th - Evening begins at 6:00 pm with a WALTZ WORKSHOP with instruction by David Imburgia and Celie Thomas. Perfect for beginners or for those wanting to refine technique and add figures. Contra dance begins at 7:15 with music by Plum Foolery features the fiddling of Abigail Hobart, Sam Vogt on mandolin, with guitar rhythms by Michael Hobart and calling by Richard Barnes from Seattle.

April 8thNorthern Contraband featuring Steve Blum-Anderson, Michael Hobart, Mark Danielson, Greg Sherman and Eileen Sterns with Maureen Collier from Vancouver, BC calling the dances.

April 22nd - Countercurrent is Brian Lindsay and Alex Sturbaum play high energy music while Sonya Kaufman calls.

April 29th – Music by Heliotrope includes Robin Brown on fiddle, Michael Hobart of guitar, and Paul Englesberg on concertina and whistles. Calling by Bellingham’s own Abigail Hobart.

May 13th – Music by Purple Heys is Sean Bolton, Melissa Coffey and Doug Plummer. Karen Marshall from Anacortes calling!

June 10th – Time for the annual Glen Echo Dance and Potluck at the Glen Echo Grange in Everson at 7694 Goodwin Rd. Music by Northern Contraband. Calling by Judy Zeidel. Workshop at 7:00pm, dancestartsat 7:30pm.  Bring finger food to share.

July 15th - Ferry Boat Contra Dance! Music by The Intoxicators featuring RodneyMiller, Marni Rachmiel, and Dave Bartley with Calling by Lindsey Dono. Purchase you ticket ($15) from us to include both the dance and foot passenger ferry ticket. Ferry departs from Anacortes, goes thru the islands and returns early evening. Bring finger food to share, carpool and PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY. Exact times TBD. Check Facebook and this page for updates as we get closer to the date and times become solid. This is one of the MostFun contra dances of the year!!
